Home for the Holidays at Kip’s Castle

Visit Kip’s Castle at Essex County Kip’s Castle Park, 22 Crestmont Rd., Verona, during the month of December for a self-guided tour of the first floor and experience the holidays circa 1928. The castle will be open Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 4 p.m., from November 29th through December 31st. They will be closed Mondays, and on December 24th and 25th.

Holiday Candlelight Tours

Takes a guided tour during the holidays at Essex County Kip’s Castle Park, 22 Crestmont Rd., Verona, on Thursdays, December 4th, 11th, and 18th. There is a $5 entrance fee and registration is required. Tours begin at 7 p.m.

Space is limited. Please meet at the front door of the Castle building. Please note: Not all areas of the tour are handicap accessible.

Facts About Ebola in the U.S.

The Essex County Office of Emergency Management has released a list of facts about Ebola:

- You can’t get Ebola through the air

- You can’t get Ebola through water

- You can’t get Ebola through food

You can only get Ebola from:

- Touching the blood or bodily fluids of a person who is sick with or had died from Ebola.

- Touching contaminated objects, like needles.

- Touching infected animals, their blood or other bodily fluids, or their meat.
