The Township of Belleville has installed parking enforcement devices at certain intersections in town.  These Safety Sticks monitor no parking zones 24/7.  They take pictures of illegally parked vehicles and transmit them to the Belleville Police Department. 

Once the violation is confirmed, parking summonses will be mailed to the vehicle's owner.  Vehicles illegally parked at yellow curbs near crosswalks and intersections obstruct traffic sight lines, which creates a safety hazard for pedestrians crossing the streets and for motorists making turns. 

The goal of this effort is to stop illegal parking and improve safety.
