Belleville TNR Program

Posted June 06, 2024

The Township of Belleville TNR Program is a valuable initiative for managing feral cat populations. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a humane and effective approach to community cats. Here’s how it works:

  1. Trap: Community cats are humanely trapped.

  2. Neuter or Spay: They are taken to a veterinary clinic to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped (a universal sign that they’ve been through a TNR program).

  3. Return: Cats are then returned to their outdoor homes, where they thrive without contributing to overpopulation.

TNR prevents new kittens from being born in the colony, stabilizes populations, and improves relationships between cats and nearby residents. If citizens encounter stray cats, they can contact Debbie Nardone at 201-306-0808 for assistance.
