Belleville Library YA Programs in May for Students & Staff
Posted May 07, 2024The Belleville Public Library would like to invite students, parents and school staff to attend their upcoming programs taking place in the library during the month of May 2024.
Homework Heroes:
May 20, 2024 - June 10, 2024
Teens looking for a fun way to earn volunteer community service hours can spend time with a small child reading or helping with homework at the library. The program will begin May 20, 2024 after school (3:00pm - 5:00pm) and is run in coordination with our Children's Department.
Digital Art Workshop 2 with Kaveh Taherian:

The librarys's Young Adult Department welcomes back LA based artist, illustrator and author, Kaveh Taherian to follow up on his Character Design Workshop. We hope to reopen with the Teen Center with a follow up to that fun workshop which will take place in person and via zoom using photshop on the library's Wacom 24" Cintiq Pro Pen Displays just like the pros use.
We only have 9 workstations available to registered participants but walkins are welcome to spectate or draw traditionally. View Flyer.
Create the Next Great Diverse Manga with Frederick Jones:

Manga Publisher (Saturday AM) Frederick Jones has built a company who's mission is to create great manga featuring diverse creators and characters. Hear his story and find out how you can create your own manga or graphic novel and get it published. View Flyer.
Belle's Crochet Corner:
This is a volunteen run program meant for all ages to share the joy of Knitting and Crocheting. Participants help one another with sticthes and the basics while relaxing and socializing. The library has crochet and knitting kits as well as yarn for beginners or you can bring your own and share your experience with others.
