NJ TRANSIT to Implement Emergency Bus Service, Providing Alternatives for DeCamp Customers Beginning Monday, April 10, 2023
Posted April 05, 2023Beginning Monday, April 10, NJ TRANSIT will implement emergency service to compensate for the loss of the DeCamp Bus Lines. Four existing bus routes will be modified during weekday peak periods only to/from Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT). These routes will not entirely duplicate current DeCamp routes.
NJ TRANSIT’s 199D Bus will provide alternate service for DeCamp’s Route 44 customers in Belleville. The modified NJ TRANSIT route will temporarily depart from Gate 208, Door 4 at Port Authority Bus Terminal. Attached please see the flyers from NJ Transit that outline/ map the emergency service route.
NJ TRANSIT will share more detailed information about the emergency service plan on Tuesday, April 4, across various communication channels – including a webpage at njtransit.com/decamp, which will include all plan specifics.
Note from Belleville:
The Township of Belleville recognizes the loss of the DeCamp Bus Routes could have a significant impact on the lives of residents dependent on public transportation for their daily commute. We will be looking into additional transit options going forward and are dedicated to meeting the needs of our residents.
