The Belleville Police Department is proud to announce our first ever CarFit event taking place on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 from 11am-2pm at the Belleville High School front parking lot (100 Passaic Ave).  This FREE event is hosted by Rutgers University Occupational Therapy Programs & The Belleville Police Department’s Community Relations Unit.

This program is designed to help an older driver to:

1. Determine how well they currently fit their personal vehicle.
2. Highlight actions the older driver can take to improve their “fit” to the vehicle.
3. Promote communication about driver safety and the ability to be mobile in the community.

This event does not address the driver’s ability to operate their vehicle and only focuses on how well their personal vehicle “fits” them.

A CarFit check typically takes 15-20 minutes to complete and each driver will receive a “goody bag” upon completion of their check.
