As part of the Belleville Police Department’s continuing community engagement, the BPD Community Relations Unit will be launching a “Story with a Cop” program for its youth (Pre-K to 3) which will take place on the first Thursday of each month at 3:30pm at the Belleville Public Library located at 221 Washington Avenue.

On the selected Thursdays, a Belleville police officer will stop in the Children’s Room section of the library and read a pre-selected book to the children and participate in fun crafts and activities. This initiative allows the children to interact with local police officers, forming new relationships as well as strengthen existing relationships. The department will also have information on hand for events and additional programs and activities for interested children.
