COVID-19 Update for July 2, 2020

Posted July 02, 2020

New Jersey continues to make great strides with suppressing the COVID-19 Virus.  As a community, Belleville should be very proud that our transmission rate is currently at a low level and our efforts of practicing social distancing and wearing a face mask out in public clearly are helping with our fight against this pandemic.  We can not relax and take this good news for granted.  We must continue our drive during this difficult time to achieve a healthy future.  As we approach the holiday weekend we want everyone to have an enjoyable time but let's not relax with all of our safety efforts.

On Friday, July 3rd all municipal playgrounds will reopen. All equipment has recently been professionally sanitized, but we still encourage all residents to wear a face mask when out in public parks.  Residents who are symptomatic of the Coronavirus are encouraged to register for a COVID -19 test at www.EssexCOVID.org or by calling the Essex County Office of Emergency Management at 973-324-9950.

The New Jersey Department of Health Novel Coronavirus Call Center is open and is taking calls from the general public.  It is open 24/7 and can accommodate calls in several languages.  They can be reached at 800-222-1222.  Please direct any other questions or concerns to coronavirus@bellevillenj.org or call our Health Department at 973-450-3389. If you are in need of immediate assistance, dial 9-1-1.
