Governor Murphy has issued an Executive Order to extend tax payments until June 1, 2020. We are encouraging all property owners to pay their taxes/water online (bellevillenj.org).  Tax/water Payments can also be mailed to the Township of Belleville, Attention: Tax Office, 152 Washington Avenue, Belleville, N.J.  07109.

If you opt to use the drop box, please include stub #2020-2 from your tax bill in a sealed envelope and/or write your property block and lot number in the memo area of the check or money order.  Also, please include a phone number on the stub or check.

If you must pay your taxes/water in person, please be advised starting Monday, April 27, 2020, the tax office will be open.  Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We will have extended hours on May 4, 2020.  Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Close from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.)

The tax office will be open with the following precautionary guidelines:

• All residents must enter on the side entrance of the building, adjacent to the Municipal Parking Lot, North side of the building.
• All residents must wear a face – cover to enter into building.
• Residents may be required to have their temperature taken prior to entering the building.
• There will always be a minimum of physical separation by at least 6 feet.

The deadline for payment of Water bills is May 15, 2020.
