Coronavirus Update - Monday, April 6, 2020
Posted April 06, 2020The Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the COVID-19 crisis and the impact on our community. While we anticipate adding orders and additional directives, we strongly suggest that whenever you are outside your home you do use a face cover. Never enter any business without a face covering and always practice safe social-distancing at a minimum of 6 feet.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to greatly affect our Township as the number of positive cases and fatalities is climbing at a significant rate. Belleville currently has over 290 confirmed cases and our death toll is increasing daily. We implore everyone to follow Governor Murphy’s orders, to refrain from any social gatherings and to practice social distancing when in public.

Residents who are symptomatic of the Coronavirus are encouraged to register for a COVID -19 test at www.EssexCOVID.org
or by calling the Essex County of Emergency Management at 973-324-9950. The following dates have been scheduled for testing. Monday, April 6th, Wednesday, April 8th, and Friday, April 10th.
The New Jersey Department of Health Novel Coronavirus Call Center is open and is taking calls from the general public. It is open 24/7 and can accommodate calls in several languages. They can be reached at 800-222-1222.
