If you are the owner and resident of one (1) family home in Belleville, built prior to 1950, and are served by the Belleville Water Department, and do not have a filter or treatment unit at the faucets or water line entering your home, we are soliciting volunteers to participate in the Township’s lead and copper sampling program of your drinking water.
If chosen as one of our sampling sites, the Township will sample your tap water twice a year, and, notify you of the results.
The sampling process is simple. The Township will notify you in advance of the date of delivery of a sampling bottle. On that specific date, a bottle and instructions (see below) will be delivered to your home. You draw a sample form a kitchen or bathroom faucet the next morning, complete the paperwork, and leave the bottle and completed form outside for pickup.
Samples will be analyzed at the Township’s outside laboratory. Results of the levels of lead and copper will be given to you after we receive the sample analysis reports.
In order to volunteer, submit the following information, and you will be contacted as to your eligibility for this program.
