  • Birth Certificate and Proof of Residency must be produced
  • All programs are free of charge
  • Completed application must be signed by parent/guardian
  • There will be specific dates for each respective program to register; notices will be in schools, newspapers and WBHS station
Riker Hill Art Park Open House

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr invites residents to get an inside glimpse of the art world and creative environment within our parks by attending the Essex County Riker Hill Art Park Open House on Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, from 11:00 5:00 p.m. at 284 Beaufort Avenue, Livingston.


While visiting a variety of different art studios, you will have the opportunity to talk to the artists, purchase art work, and stop by the gallery to view a compilation exhibition. Artists in residence work in a variety of disciplines, including clay, jewelry, glass blowing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography.

Free Friday Flicks

Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., Essex County Executive, The Board of Chosen Freeholders, and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs invite you to Free Friday Flicks! Gates open at 7:00 PM. Movie begins at dusk. Join us at Essex County Kip’s Castle Park, 22 Crestmont Road, Verona.

RIO will be playing on Friday, June 6. Pre-movie entertainment is the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo.

Pitch Perfect is on Friday, June 13. Pre-movie entertainment is Live acapella performances.

Teen Beach Movie is on Friday, June 20. Pre-movie entertainment is learning the choreography for one of the movie’s musical numbers.

Hunger Games is on Friday, June 27. Pre-movie entertainment is archery demonstration.

Essex County Announces 2014 Cherry Blossom Festival

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and the Board of Chosen Freeholders invites everyone to Branch Brook Park for the Cherry Blossoms. "You're invited to Essex County Branch Brook Park to admire the most diverse collectin of Cherry Trees in the country, which is even larger than the national displayh in Washington, D.C. The blossoming trees create a pink and white canopy that is perfect for picnics, photographs and simple enjoyment.  Come out and experience this natural wonder."
